This 2018 Le Pavillon comes from the steep, granite‑rich “Les Bessards” parcel on Hermitage’s hill, composed of 100% Syrah, destemmed and aged 18 months in just 15% new French oak.  Aromatically it shows deep purple‑garnet colour, with a bouquet of black and blue fruits, crushed rock, liquid violets, olives, licorice and graphite. On the palate it is full‑bodied and powerful, with intense cassis, dark berry fruit, tobacco and firm tannins underpinning a very long finish—built for decades in cellar and already rated among the finest of the vintage. 

M. Chapoutier is a landmark estate in the Northern Rhône, founded in 1808 and now helmed by Michel Chapoutier, whose pioneering work in biodynamic viticulture and terroir‑specific winemaking has made the domaine a reference point for precision and authenticity. Their celebrated “Sélection Parcellaire” series emphasises individual vineyard plots—each treated with minimal intervention to let the site speak clearly.
