The 2014 Le Mé al Blanc (100% Marsanne) comes from the “Mé al” hillside’s fluvioglacial alluvial soils, producing vines of low yield and high concentration. On the nose it presents golden‑yellow brilliance with intense minerality, celery stalk hints, and a subtle whisper of oak. The palate opens with a bold, ample attack, ripe orchard and stone‑fruit flavours (pear, melon, apricot), roasted almond undertones, and exotic freshness that lingers long. With fine acidity supporting textured weight and layered complexity, it is built for long‑term cellaring—winemakers suggest 30‑60 years of evolution.
M. Chapoutier, established in 1808 in Tain‑l’Hermitage, is recognised for pioneering biodynamic viticulture and the “Sélection Parcellaire” series that emphasises single‑vineyard expression. Under the leadership of Michel Chapoutier, the domain prioritises minimal intervention, careful parcel segmentation, and long‑term ageing potential. Their Hermitage whites — especially from parcels like Le Mé al and L’Ermite — are benchmarks for depth, precision and longevity, reinforcing the estate’s reputation for crafting wines of both power and elegance.
