The 2018 vintage of the Saint‑Péray Lieu‑dit Hongrie is made from 100% Marsanne grown in the clay‑limestone and granitic soils of the “Hongrie” parcel in the Saint‑Péray appellation. The wine presents a golden‑yellow hue with faint green highlights and opens with aromas of white‑fleshed fruit, honeysuckle, fennel, anise and a hint of brioche. On the palate it is rounded and generous yet structured and elegant, offering a seamless balance of richness and freshness, with marked mineral tension, subtle oak undertones, and a long, refined finish that lingers with saline and herbal notes.
M. Chapoutier is a landmark estate in the Northern Rhône, founded in 1808 and led today by Michel Chapoutier, whose pioneering work in biodynamic viticulture and terroir‑focused winemaking has made the domaine a reference point for precision and authenticity. Their “Sélection Parcellaire” bottlings showcase individual vineyard sites with minimal intervention—low yields, native yeasts, and thoughtful aging—allowing the unique geology and exposure of each plot to shine. Their commitment to letting the land speak first, through sustainable farming and thoughtful cellar practice, produces wines of clarity, depth and expression.
