The 2018 vintage of Les Carmes Haut-Brion is a stunning expression of elegance and originality. Composed of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, it undergoes partial whole-cluster fermentation, adding aromatic lift and structure. The wine is layered with notes of black cherry, sandalwood, graphite, and savory herbs. Silky tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish make it one of the most distinctive and age-worthy reds in Bordeaux today. A true modern classic with personality and grace.
Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion is one of the most exciting and distinctive estates in Pessac-Léognan. Though it shares part of its name with the legendary Haut-Brion, Les Carmes is independently owned and operated, with a bold, avant-garde approach. Since its acquisition by Patrice Pichet and under the guidance of winemaker Guillaume Pouthier, the château has become known for precision viticulture, whole-cluster fermentation, and a poetic fusion of innovation and tradition. The estate boasts unique gravel, clay, and limestone soils nestled within a walled vineyard just outside Bordeaux city.
