The 2011 blend (86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc) opened after a cool, wet growing season that demanded selection and patience.  Aromatically the wine presents fresh almond, wild strawberry, cassis, and subtle caramel, leading into notes of dark berries, cocoa and sage.  On the palate it is elegantly structured—with polished tannins, vivid acidity and a core of red and black fruit framed by underbrush and graphite minerality. The finish is long, refined, and hinting at decades of potential, while already showing exuberant life for current enjoyment. 

Dominus Estate, founded by Christian Moueix on the historic Napanook Vineyard in Yountville, Napa Valley, is celebrated for its refined Bordeaux‑style blends and low‑yield hillside farming. Dry‑farmed and richly rooted in Napa’s gravely‑loam soils, the estate combines tradition and innovation—ancient vines, hand‑sorting, native yeasts, and aging in French oak—to express terroir with elegance and depth.
