The 2021 Wiltinger Braune Kupp Auslese is made from botrytized fruit and offers a delicate, even if initially reduced, nose of bergamot‑infused herbs, pineapple, starfruit, apricot blossom, white peach, and ginger. On the palate it is beautifully filigreed yet concentrated—bright, poised, and framed by pure Riesling ripeness with sustained acidity and a long, ethereal finish pointing to further integration over time.
Weingut Egon Müller is one of Germany’s most iconic producers, especially known for its world‑class Rieslings from the Saar region. The Müller family has long held parcels in Wiltingen, including the hallowed Braune Kupp vineyard via the Le Gallais holdings, which came under Müller’s control mid‑20th century. Their philosophy emphasizes ultra-low yields, selective harvesting (especially for Auslese and other late‑harvest wines), native yeast fermentations, and long aging to allow minerality and complexity to shine.
