The 2018 Ex-Voto is a breathtaking expression of power, elegance, and purity. Deep ruby with mauve highlights, it opens with intense aromas of ripe blackberries, cassis, leather, espresso, exotic spices, and a mesmerising smoky nuance. On the palate, the wine is profoundly concentrated yet seamless—rich with layers of dark fruit, brown sugar, licorice, incense, game, and bacon fat balanced by mineral lift and fine-grained tannins. Critics universally hailed it as exceptional: Jeb Dunnuck awarded 98 points, calling it “magical… balance… purity off the charts,” with an aging window of 2030–2060; Vinous gave 98, praising its penetrating fruit and endless finish; Wine Advocate rated it 95–97, while James Suckling (96) highlighted its velvety tannins and density.
