The 2016 Rubicon is composed of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc, aged 18 months in French oak (≈ 75% new) from September harvests under ideal Rutherford conditions. On the nose it shows intense, focused aromatics: creamy vanilla, black licorice, ripe black cherry and crème de cassis; on the palate it’s broad, deep, and elegant, with sensuous polished tannins, balanced fruit richness, and remarkable freshness.
