The 2013 Le Trame opens with a vivid garnet hue and an aromatic profile of sour cherry, wild raspberry, wood‑smoke, dried oregano and earthy mushroom tones, with hints of liquorice and forest floor developing over time. On the palate it is medium‑bodied, offering bright red and black cherry fruit, framed by taut acidity and finely textured tannins that give a polished yet lively structure. Mid‑palate notes of iron‑rich minerality, dried herbs and cedar add complexity, sending the wine into a finish that lingers with tobacco leaf, cherry pit and a slate‑driven tension. Despite its age, the wine remains vibrant, with juicy fruit and energy still present—decant for 30‑45 minutes to optimise its early charms. This vintage combines approachability in the now with enough structure to continue evolving—ideal for those seeking a refined Tuscan Sangiovese with authenticity and character.

Podere Le Boncie, located on the outskirts of Castelnuovo Berardenga in the southern Chianti Classico zone, is a boutique organic estate driven by owner‑winemaker Giovanna Morganti. Her high‑density plantings, head‑trained vines and minimal intervention cellar reflect a commitment to purity, terroir‑expression and Sangiovese’s natural character. The vineyard soils are composed of galestro and Alberese limestone, with a warm micro‑climate balanced by evening breezes from the hills; this enables full ripeness while retaining fresh acidity. Morganti ferments in open‑top vats and avoids new oak, favouring old barrels and large format vessels to highlight elegance over power. The estate produces only a few cuvées—among them Le Trame, the flagship—which regularly earns cult status among fans of Tuscan artisanal wines.
