The 2009 Clos Saint‑Jean is a beautifully evolved Chassagne‑Montrachet 1er Cru, showing a pale golden hue with aromas of warm brioche, candied lemon, and floral gingerbread nuances. On the palate, it strikes a graceful balance—fresh and characterful, endowed with sap, finesse, and impressively long persistence. Final notes of spiced floral and subtle roasted hazelnut echo beautifully.
The Carillon family’s winemaking heritage stretches back to the 16th century in the village of Puligny‑Montrachet, with records of Jehan Carillon dating to 1520. Since 1632, the domaine has passed from father to son, and today François Carillon leads the estate with exceptional finesse and a poetic understanding of terroir, crafting expressive burgundies that reflect both the legacy and authenticity of Côte de Beaune.
