The 2023 Meursault 1er Cru “Santenots” opens with a pale straw‑gold hue and a refined bouquet of lemon blossom, white peach, green apple and crushed oyster shell, followed by subtle hints of hazelnut and chalky minerality. On the palate it delivers crisp acidity and a lithe but textured core of ripe orchard fruit, anchored by a chalky mineral backbone that lends focus and drive. Mid‑palate elements of pear skin, delicate white florals and saline stone weave through the fruit, giving depth without heaviness. The finish is long and elegant, fading with citrus zest, dry almond and a whisper of macadamia shell, leaving a lingering note of marl‑rich minerality. While openly enjoyable now after brief decanting, this wine is built for ageing—expect graceful evolution over the next 7–10 years, and beyond, as the layers subtly unfold.
