The Molsino vineyard, a natural amphitheater facing south and southwest, is considered one of Gattinara’s crown jewels. Its unique exposure and ancient volcanic soils give Nebbiolo exceptional depth, power, and longevity. The 2021 vintage offers intense aromas of black cherry, wild berries, violet, and dried rose, interwoven with notes of licorice, tobacco, and crushed rock. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with layered fruit, firm yet polished tannins, and a long, resonant finish marked by mineral precision. A wine of structure and grandeur, Molsino is built for decades of cellaring, embodying the noble strength of Gattinara’s finest terroir.
Founded in 1906, Nervi is the oldest continuously operating winery in the Gattinara DOCG, located in northern Piedmont’s Alto Piemonte region. In 2018, legendary Barolo producer Roberto Conterno acquired the estate, bringing his uncompromising winemaking philosophy to its historic Nebbiolo vineyards. With holdings in premier crus such as Molsino and Valferana, Nervi Conterno crafts wines that combine the finesse and aromatic lift of northern Nebbiolo with the precision, structure, and cellar potential of the Langhe’s finest. The high-altitude vineyards, planted on ancient volcanic soils rich in minerals, yield wines of striking elegance, minerality, and longevity.
