The 2007 Amarone opens with rich aromas of dried cherry, fig, nutmeg, leather, and intense spice. Over time it develops tertiary notes of tobacco, cocoa, and earth. On the palate it is full‑bodied and generous, with velvety tannins, concentrated dried fruit, and a lingering, spicy finish supported by vibrant acidity. A mature Amarone that still offers both power and elegance.
Nicolis is a respected family-run estate in Valpolicella Classico, committed to traditional methods while embracing careful modernization. Their vineyards are planted in the core historic zone of the appellation—on good altitudes, calcareous soils, and well-exposed slopes. They follow rigorous vineyard practices—green harvesting, canopy management, and precise grape selection—especially for their appassimento (drying) wines. In the cellar, Nicolis favors natural fermentations, long aging in large oak casks, and restrained use of new wood, aiming for wines of depth, balance, and authentic regional character.
