The 2014 Muncagota Riserva is a beautifully poised Barbaresco from a cooler, more classical vintage. The bouquet is lifted and expressive, with aromas of red cherry, cranberry, rose petals, licorice, and hints of orange zest. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, elegant, and finely etched, with bright acidity and polished tannins framing the pure red fruit. Subtle notes of spice, earth, and mineral add complexity, while the finish is long, graceful, and persistent. The 2014 vintage’s freshness gives this wine immediate charm, though it still has the structure to evolve for another decade, gaining nuance and depth with time.

Produttori del Barbaresco, founded in 1958, has grown into one of the world’s most respected cooperatives, bringing together over 50 small growers across Barbaresco. With vineyard holdings in all of the region’s most esteemed crus, the estate is renowned for its authenticity, traditional methods, and remarkable consistency. The Riserva line, produced only in select vintages, highlights the individuality of each single vineyard and represents some of the best values in ageworthy Nebbiolo.
