The Barbaresco Riserva Pora 2014 is a study in balance and refinement, delivering a graceful yet structured expression of Nebbiolo. Aromatically, it opens with notes of menthol, wild berries, and dried herbs, wrapped in floral tones and hints of sour cherry and licorice. The palate reveals vibrant acidity and fine-grained, sandy tannins, giving the wine a lifted, elegant character. Antonio Galloni described it as “a dark, sensual beauty” with intense spiciness and a balsamic core. The wine shows a deep ruby hue with garnet reflections and unfolds into layers of peppered raspberry, saline minerality, and savory red fruit. It has been widely acclaimed, earning scores of 94–95 from Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator, and a 93-point average on Wine-Searcher. Its aging window spans 2019–2044, but even now, it displays outstanding drinkability and nuance—making it a prized choice for collectors and Barbaresco lovers alike.

Produttori del Barbaresco Description

Produttori del Barbaresco is one of the most respected cooperative wineries in Italy, founded in 1958 with a mission to faithfully express the unique terroirs of the Barbaresco region through traditional, transparent winemaking. Among their most treasured crus is Pora, a historic vineyard totaling about 10.7 hectares, owned by the Dellaferrera and Manzone families. Pora is located just outside the village, with southwest-facing slopes composed of calcareous and sandy soils—ideal for producing Nebbiolo of complexity and softness. Since 1967, the estate has only bottled Riserva wines in the best vintages, and Pora is consistently among the top selections. The winemaking process for this Riserva is meticulous: fermentation at 30°C, 28 days of skin maceration, full malolactic conversion, followed by 36 months in large neutral oak casks and extended bottle aging before release in 2018.
