The 2018 Barolo Tre Tine is a classically styled blend from Ravera, Le Coste, and Cannubi San Lorenzo, reflecting the estate’s historic commitment to multi-vineyard Barolo. The wine opens with a haunting bouquet of rose petals, sour cherry, anise, tar, and herbs, leading into a mid-weight palate that marries clarity and finesse with latent power. Tannins are firm but fine, and the acidity is bright—hallmarks of a wine built for the cellar. Aged for over 3 years in large oak casks, it’s a wine of graceful austerity, with remarkable length and aging potential.
Giuseppe Rinaldi, affectionately known as “Citrico” for his sharp wit and traditionalist spirit, is one of the most revered names in Barolo. Based in the historic Cannubi area of Barolo village, the estate has long stood as a beacon of classic, uncompromising winemaking, favoring extended macerations, large Slavonian oak botti, and strict adherence to the blending traditions that defined Barolo before the rise of single-cru bottlings. Now led by Marta Rinaldi, Giuseppe’s daughter, the estate continues to produce soulful, age-worthy Barolo that prizes aromatic lift, textural tension, and a deep sense of terroir. With just a few hectares under vine—including selections in Brunate, Le Coste, and Ravera—Rinaldi wines are as scarce as they are revered, treasured by collectors and purists alike.
