The 2022 Campo di Tenaglia comes from a steep, sunset‑facing slope at ~500 m with marly, sandy soils and limestone inclusions. Only ~1,146 bottles were produced. Aromas open with blackberry, violets, cedar, spice, and graphite; more intense and ripe than prior vintages. On the palate it is full‑bodied and textured, with firm tannins, black fruit density, subtle smoke and mineral edges, and a long, structured finish.
Tenuta di Trinoro is the cult estate founded by Andrea Franchetti in Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia, known for crafting bold, soulful blends rooted in high‑elevation parcels and expressive varietals. The winery emphasizes low yields, careful selection, and a mix of modern and traditional techniques to highlight terroir and maintain balance. Their Collezione I Campi series, including Campo di Tenaglia, is devoted entirely to pure Cabernet Franc from micro‑vineyards, allowing each parcel’s character to shine. The estate works in small lots, aging wines in both barriques and concrete to marry power with poise.
