New from Casa Castillo, this comes from younger Monastrell (85%) and Garnacha vines, fermented with about one third whole bunches and indigenous yeasts. Youthful with lovely freshness, layered with dark fruit, and exceptionally good value.
Casa Castillo is a star producer in the high-altitude, sun-drenched Jumilla – but there is more to this artisanal Bodega than the value provided by little La Tendida and its blend of Monastrell and Garnacha. You might say Monastrell is the star varietal here, and that begins with Las Gravas. As you might expect from the name, the Las Gravas comes from a profoundly rocky, single vineyard of the same name and combines Monastrell and Garnacha and is the signature of the estate.
