This 2013 vintage is 100% Syrah from the “Les Greffieux” parcel on the lower slopes of Hermitage—rich, steep, and buried with glacial deposits and granite. The wine shows deep garnet‑ruby colour and opens with aromas of blackberries, crème de cassis, graphite, violet, licorice and warm spice. On the palate it is full‑bodied and expansive, with velvety tannins, bold dark‑berry fruit, hints of mocha and smoked meat, and a long plush finish with excellent ageing potential. 

Established in 1808 and now led by Michel Chapoutier, the estate is a benchmark of terroir‑focused winemaking in the Northern Rhône. Its celebrated “Sélection Parcellaire” series highlights single‑vineyard bottlings where minimal intervention and biodynamic viticulture allow each parcel’s character to shine. From steep granite slopes to alluvial terraces, Chapoutier farms meticulously, harvests by hand and ages with restraint—yielding wines built for both intensity and elegance.
