This 2020 vintage comes from the famous “Monier de la Sizeranne” single‑vineyard site on Hermitage’s steep granite and alluvial slopes.  On the nose it opens with black‑currant, raspberry and blackberry fruit, underpinned by liquorice, graphite and smouldering spice; powerful yet refined. On the palate it’s full‑bodied yet elegant—velvety tannins wrap dense dark fruit and smoky mineral notes, finishing long with pepper and crunchy precision. 

Founded in 1808 and today led by Michel Chapoutier, the estate is a benchmark for terroir‑driven winemaking in the Northern Rhône. The “Sélection Parcellaire” range emphasizes single‑vineyard bottlings whose vineyards are carefully farmed biodynamically or organically, harvested by hand, and vinified with minimal intervention so that each site’s distinct character shines through. Chapoutier’s philosophy revolves around letting the land speak—through soil, slope and vine—yielding wines of clarity, authenticity and longevity.
