The 2023 “Les Taillepieds” begins with a luminous garnet‑ruby hue and an evocative nose of wild raspberry, red cherry, violet petals and cranberry, layered with delicate hints of forest floor, chalk and subtle spice. On the palate it presents refined energy: vibrant acidity frames a core of red‑berry fruit while fine, chalky tannins provide structure without weight. Mid‑palate complexity unfolds with notes of pomegranate skin, dried herbs and crushed stone, giving the wine focused minerality and tension. The finish is long and serene—echoes of cherry pit, licorice bark and saline minerality linger beautifully. While charming at youth with a modest decant, this wine is built to evolve; expect graceful development over the next 10‑15 years in a cool cellar.
Domaine Marquis d’Angerville is a celebrated estate situated on the high slopes of Volnay in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, led today by Guillaume and Margot d’Angerville. The estate farms biodynamically and organically, with ultra‑low yields, a commitment to old vines, and minimal cellar intervention — all aimed at showcasing the true character of terroir over winemaking flourish. Their holdings include some of the finest 1er Cru sites of Volnay, and their wines are regarded for their elegant lines, subtle power and long‑term potential.
