The Châteauneuf-du-Pape Arioso 2017 is the domaine’s rare and highly coveted 100% Grenache cuvée, drawn from old vines rooted in sandy soils. The wine displays a striking aromatic intensity, with soaring notes of red cherry, raspberry liqueur, rose petals, and exotic spices, layered with hints of garrigue, licorice, and mineral dust. On the palate, it is both rich and ethereal, with a silken texture, superb depth, and finely knit tannins. The 2017 vintage lends a balance of ripeness and lift, resulting in a wine that is powerful yet graceful, with a finish that lingers endlessly. This is a profound expression of Grenache—an homage to Burgundy’s elegance transposed onto the southern Rhône’s grandeur.
Rotem & Mounir Saouma, based in Burgundy where they are renowned for their work at Lucien Le Moine, have extended their philosophy south to the Rhône Valley with their project in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Their approach is Burgundian in spirit: meticulous vineyard work, small yields, long élevage, and a profound respect for terroir expression. With both Israeli and Lebanese roots, their global perspective informs a style that is at once precise and soulful, marrying tradition with an artisan’s eye for detail. The domaine quickly established itself as one of the most intriguing newcomers in the appellation, crafting wines of extraordinary purity and finesse.
