Château PétrusChâteau Pétrus stands as one of the most revered and enigmatic names in the world of wine—a true symbol of Bordeaux perfection. Located in the heart of Pomerol on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, Pétrus occupies a modest 11.5-hectare vineyard planted almost entirely to Merlot. Unlike the grand châteaux of the Médoc, Pétrus has no imposing castle or centuries-old dynasty behind it; its legend was built through the sheer brilliance of its terroir and the meticulous dedication of those who have tended it. The vineyard sits atop a unique blue clay plateau, a geological rarity that retains water and gives the vines remarkable consistency, depth, and concentration even in challenging vintages.
The modern reputation of Pétrus was shaped by the Moueix family, particularly Jean-Pierre Moueix, who began distributing the wine in the 1940s and helped establish it as one of the most sought-after labels on the planet. Under the later stewardship of his son Christian Moueix, the same visionary who founded Dominus Estate in Napa, Pétrus refined its identity as the epitome of Merlot’s potential—pure, profound, and timeless. The estate’s approach is one of utmost precision: low yields, manual harvesting at perfect ripeness, and careful vinification in cement vats followed by aging in fine French oak. Every decision is driven by a philosophy of respect for the land and the expression of its singular clay soils.
In the glass, Pétrus transcends expectation. The wine is at once powerful and sensual and with age, it develops haunting complexity, merging fruit, minerality, and subtle tertiary notes into an otherworldly harmony. Collectors and connoisseurs alike regard Pétrus not simply as a wine but as an experience—one that captures the essence of craftsmanship, place, and time in its most elevated form.
The below Petrus, Older Dominus and the extremely rare Library Dominus Mixed case have just been released and are sold packs. They will be ready for delivery by the end of November. We are only able to offer 1 of each pack. Please inquire if you have interest in a single bottle.
2016 Château Pétrus
The 2016 Pétrus is widely regarded as a standout example—garnering a perfect 100/100 from some critics. In the glass it shows an opaque purple-black color. On the nose you’ll find a core of black cherries, warm plums, blueberry compote, layered with violets, iris, licorice, cinnamon, pencil-lead and crushed-rock minerality. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, densely packed yet finely detailed: filigreed tannins, vibrant freshness beneath the generous fruit, a beautifully poised texture and a long finish. This is a wine to put away. While approachable after some years, it will reward decades of aging. Many suggest prime drinking 2028–2045+ for full development.

2017 Château Pétrus
The 2017 vintage is very strong though slightly different in character and perhaps a notch below the very greatest of Pétrus vintages. Many reviews give it 98-ish points. Color is deep garnet-purple. The aroma profile is bold: blueberry preserves, Black Forest cake, Christmas pudding, molten chocolate, candied violets, rose, cinnamon stick. On the palate: full-bodied and rich, lots of concentration and velvety tannins, but also freshness and finesse. Compared to 2016, the 2017 is richer, more exuberant and less classically restrained — more “today showing” and seductive, but still built to age.

2018 Château Pétrus
The 2018 Pétrus enters the realm of the exceptional. Many critics give 100/100 (or very near) scores. It shows an opaque purple-black colour, with nose showing blackberries, blueberry pie, black truffle, dark chocolate, violet, licorice, iron ore. On the palate it is full-bodied, powerful, richly layered, yet unbelievably harmonious and seamless. The texture is satiny, the tannins polished, the finish extremely long. Many see this as one of the best Pétrus in recent years. This is a vintages for the very long term — expect major development over at least 15-30 years, likely longer. It is a titan — power plus elegance. If you like wines with both size and finesse, 2018 is a highlight. It might overshadow others in your cellar when fully mature.

2019 Château Pétrus
The 2019 vintage is excellent, though in many critics’ eyes just a touch behind the absolute top vintage of 2016. Color and aroma are deep garnet-purple; aromatics of black cherries, raspberries, violets, licorice, cinnamon, rose petal, mint, wet stone/mineral. It is dense, concentrated, rich but also with lively acidity and a firm tannin backbone The structure suggests a wine that will age very well and definitely needs time. Often recommended to wait 8-10 years or more, with peak drinking perhaps from 2030 and beyond.
Special 2 pack owc available at $12,000 Dominus by Christian MoueixDominus Estate stands as one of Napa Valley’s most profound expressions of terroir and precision. Founded by Christian Moueix—the legendary Bordeaux vintner behind Château Pétrus—Dominus represents his lifelong vision of crafting a Californian wine with the soul and discipline of the Old World. Located in Yountville on the historic Napanook Vineyard, first planted in 1838, the estate benefits from gravelly, volcanic soils and a dry, warm microclimate that yield fruit of great intensity and structure. Moueix’s philosophy of minimal intervention—dry farming, restrained use of new oak, and meticulous vineyard management—allows the vineyard itself to speak, producing wines that are both powerful and profoundly elegant.
The resulting Dominus wines are benchmarks of balance and longevity, capturing the essence of Napa’s sun-drenched fruit through a lens of Bordeaux finesse. Known for their deep, savory complexity and seamless integration of Cabernet Sauvignon with touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, these wines reveal layers of black fruit, tobacco, graphite, and earth that unfold beautifully over decades. Each vintage tells a nuanced story of place and time, reflecting both Moueix’s unyielding pursuit of purity and the timeless pedigree of Napanook.
2023 Dominus Estate Othello
It is a vibrant and inviting expression of the famed Napanook Vineyard in Yountville, California, offering both pedigree and approachability. Composed of 89 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 11 % Petit Verdot, the wine is marked by rich notes of purple plum and cacao as described in its official tasting notes. The growing season was defined by exceptional rainfall and a coolerthanaverage spring, which delayed bud break and veraison by about two weeks, yet thanks to a warm summer and early fall, the fruit developed evenly and with excellent depth. With only 20 % new oak and the estate’s hallmark dryfarmed vines, this vintage retains a pure expression of site and is designed for earlier enjoyment than the flagship, while still offering ageworthy structure.
