This 100 % Marsanne from the steep, clay‑limestone and granitic soils of the “Hongrie” lieu‑dit in the AOP Saint‑Péray opens in the glass with a golden yellow colour with green flashes. The nose is fresh and inviting, offering roasted brioche, white‑fleshed fruits, fennel, anise, and honeysuckle aromas. On the palate it is smooth and well‑balanced, showing freshness and volume with subtle aniseed and roasted notes, a fine minerality and a long, harmonious finish.
M. Chapoutier is a distinguished Rhône Valley house founded in 1808 and now led by Michel Chapoutier, who introduced biodynamic viticulture and single‑vineyard bottlings to the estate’s philosophy. They place a keen emphasis on letting terroir speak for itself, guiding fermentations with minimal intervention and harvesting by hand where possible—especially in steep, challenging sites. Their commitment to sustainability, authenticity and precision has made Chapoutier a reference point for terroir‑driven wines in the Northern Rhône and beyond.
