The 2019 Ferraton Père & Fils Cornas “Lieu-Dit Les Eygats” is a single- vineyard Syrah sourced from the steep granite slopes of Cornas, a terroir famed for producing some of the Northern Rhône’s most powerful reds. Ferraton, a historic estate now under the guidance of Chapoutier, farms these parcels organically and biodynamically, respecting the rugged hillside vineyards that define Cornas. Hand- harvested fruit undergoes traditional vinification with long maceration, followed by aging in mostly neutral oak barrels to preserve the purity of fruit and the raw intensity of site expression.

The 2019 vintage delivers a wine of bold structure and remarkable energy. Dense aromas of blackberry, black olive, smoked meat, and cracked pepper rise from the glass, underscored by graphite and violet notes typical of Cornas’ granite soils. On the palate it is full-bodied and tightly coiled, with dark fruit concentration, searing minerality, and muscular tannins that promise long cellar life.
