About Frescobaldi Estate:

The Frescobaldi estate is a cornerstone of Tuscan viticulture and noble heritage, rooted in medieval Florence and spanning over 700 years and 30 generations. The family first entered wine production in the early 1300s, with their historic Tenuta Castiglioni, located in Val di Pesa, still flourishing today and representing their earliest documented vineyard.

Over the centuries, Frescobaldi expanded to include nine major estates—with ten in Tuscany and one in Friuli—each chosen for its distinctive terroir and “expression of its territory.” Tenuta CastelGiocondo, located just south-west of Montalcino at around 300 m altitude, is one of the original pioneers of Brunello di Montalcino production. The estate is anchored by a medieval fortress built in the 1100s and features the iconic fresco of Guidoriccio da Fogliano on its label. Today, it produces finely expressive Sangiovese-based wines such as Campo ai Sassi, Lamaione, Ripe al Convento, and CastelGiocondo Brunello.

Today under the leadership of Lamberto Frescobaldi (30th generation), the family continues its legacy of combining tradition and modernity, offering hospitality experiences across its estates and producing olive oil (Laudemio) and wines that reflect the diversity of Tuscany, all while engaging in contemporary art partnerships and therapeutic projects to preserve both land and culture.
